My interest in creating these pieces came about from a desire to experiment with colour juxtapositions, visual tension and energy. I have always had an interest in Kandinsky and this interest instigated the initial ideas and with the addition of fulcrums, springs, pendulums and implied motion resulted in a number of experiments. Life on Mars is also loosely based around the 1.618 ratio for beauty.
